In industrial manufacturing, when grease fails to meet quality standards during inspection, it cannot simply be discarded; nor can remedial measures be effectively applied directly within the 180 kg finished-product drums. Instead, the grease must be pumped back to a blending tank. There, utilizing controlled agitation, temperature regulation, additive replenishment, and re-homogenization, its consistency, structure, and uniformity can be readjusted. This process allows the entire batch to be salvaged and brought back up to standard, thereby conserving raw materials and minimizing waste.

1. Common quality defects in grease include:

— Failure to meet penetration specifications (being either too hard or too soft);

— An insufficient dropping point (indicating poor high-temperature resistance);

— Visible particulates or non-uniformity in appearance;

— Significant deviations in consistency or excessive oil separation;

— Failure to meet standards regarding moisture content or stability.

These issues typically stem from improper control over formulation ratios, mixing uniformity, or temperature-controlled dehydration processes; they do not constitute irreparable waste, but rather defects that can be corrected through rework.

2. If the grease is still within the active grease production line workflow, it can be transported via pipelines using a gear pump—the most convenient and hassle-free method available.

However, a different scenario arises when the grease has already been dispensed into 180 kg steel drums. Manually scooping the grease back into the blending tank—drum by drum—is incredibly inefficient. Furthermore, even if a pump were used for transfer, workers would still be required to manually scrape out the residual grease left in each drum, making the process overly cumbersome.
