A grease filling machine is a device that fills hot or cold grease according to a specified weight. Grease packaging is usually labeled in grams or kilograms, but the metering equipment used for filling is volumetric, not gravimetric.

Because grease has poor flowability (0# and 00# semi-fluid greases are filled using lubricant oil filling machines), a filling operation requires two steps: a grease-collecting device and a metering device.

For hot-filled grease, a gear pump below the degassed tank will transport the grease, while the volumetric metering cylinder measures it. For cold-filled grease, a pneumatic or electric grease-collecting machine collects the grease, and the volumetric metering cylinder measures it.

Its disadvantage is that it's difficult to fill multiple colors of grease with a single machine. Even if you've mixed one or two containers of grease when changing colors and you think it's clean enough, other colors can still inadvertently appear. Therefore, in grease factories in China, it's common to have 10-20 or even more sets of grease filling machines. On the one hand, different types of grease might have different colors; on the other hand, each worker has their own machine, so they do not interfere with each other, and piece-rate wages are very convenient to manage.
